Before & After

This is what the walls in my living room looked like BEFORE!
This what the mess looked like after I took off the border

We decided to texture the walls, since there wasn't any. This was the hard working sexy man part way. This is what the texture looked like after it was painted. This is how the accent wall turned out. I have mixed feelings about it, so I would appreciate some thoughts on it. It was "joint" decision on the color.
This is what my walls look like up against my new beautiful couches! Its just a dark off white/tan. So much better than the red and the green border.

Izzy's Birthday

Sadly for mommy, Izzy's birthday was this weekend, she is no longer my baby
Grandma & Grandpa Carwash and Aunt Katie came for the big day! Grandma Carwash made her this night gown and Izzy was more than happy to model it!
Grandma & Papa gave her "fake" make up, which turned out not to be fake. Izzy was showing us her beautiful lipstick. (Don't you like Jared in the background playing with the doll! Well he was really taking all the packaging off, but it looks like he is playing.)

Grandma & Papa came for the big day, and brought along cousin Brooklyn and of course Snoopie & Angel.

I had a lady in my ward make her a cake and it was possibly the cutest cake ever. I didn't want to cut into it. She even made a dress up high heel out of chocolate for it as well. The pictures do not give it justice. It was amazing!

Wall Paper Sucks!!!

I just want to say Wall Paper sucks!!! Ding Dong the christmas border is gone! Everyone thought it looked like christmas holly with the red walls. On Thursday I took some time and took the ugly wall paper border out of my living room and dining room. I borrowed a steamer and it came right up, I only had to work about an hour. But the mess was after, it was all over the floor, and the little gooey pieces got tracked all over my house. I'm so glad its gone, but still wall paper sucks.

Halloween Part 4

Okay so I promise this will be my last post about Halloween.
The Living Center (nursing home) here does a little activity on halloween. They had a few games for the kids to play and win prizes and then they had all the residents lined up in their wheel chairs handing out candy. There is no other way to put it than it was just soo cute. Yet is was a very tearful experience for me. All I could think of while we were there was my cute little Grandma Veda. Unfortunately she spent the rest of her time here on earth in a living center like this one. But she loved Halloween, and she would have loved that activity. I remember growing up, all the way through high school she just had to see our costumes and see us dressed up and would usually give us a full size candy bar.
One little lady kept telling tyler she had a secret for him and then would kiss him. And then Izzy felt jealous ran right up to the lady giving her a hug and wanted her kisses. This too reminded me of my Grandma because she was always kissing us.
This little lady was all dressed up with face paint and all. I felt a little guilty at not being dressed up for my kids.

This lady was so funy, and she had this witch hat on and had a little stuffed witch in her lap. She smiled for me so I could take her picture, and then when I got done, she said "don't you take my picture." It was really funny. We were very gratful to these people and their willingness to try and give the children a great halloween.

Halloween Part 3

Here were the kids' costumes this year. Pretty Darn cute if I do say so myself.

Tyler was a Fighter Jet Pilot. And obviously Izzy was a Skunk. And she was the hit of the party wherever we went. Not to many skunks out there trick or treating. People kept asking her if she was stinky, and she would curl her nose up in confusion and then tell them yes. One guy at trunk or treat asked her if she was going to lift her tail and spray him, and so she did. She turned around and lifted her tail. It was so funny.

We had to wait in line to get into trunk or treat for about 45 minutes. At one point Izzy got sick of standing there and walked over to a tree and sat down. From a far it looked almost real. Then everyone in the line slowly started to see and everyone was laughing. It was way too cute and way too funny!! Too bad I haven't gotten used to my new camera and the picture if blury.

Tyler said that this is the face the Fighter Jet Pilot's make.

Halloween Part 2

Here in Soda the city does a trunk or treat. Well they provide the spot and any local business can participate in the trunk or treat, in a contest for best decorated trunk. So Bear River Chiropractic did a booth (trunk).

Halloween Part 1

We had about a billion different activities over the week of Halloween, so I'm going to split it up into separate parts.

Our real estate agent here in Soda, provides a pumpkin patch for everyone at a local park. She fills it with pumkins, and then serves Hot Dogs and chili, and Hot chocolate. And it was all free. So we all came home with full bellies and pumpkins.

So for Family home evening we all carved pumpkins and entered them in the City of Soda Springs pumking carving contest. And 2 of them won!!! Of course Jared actually did all of the carving but the rest of us took the credit!

Cami Look alike

So for those of you that know my baby sister Cami, will understand this post. I have been having a ton of fun with Izzy's hair lately. The other day I did this cool pattern on her head and then made the back of it curly and poofy. After it was done I was shocked at to how much she looked like Cami. And not just because of the Big Hair!! Ha Ha Cam, love ya anyway. I would post a picture of Cami to go with it, but all those pictures are on the computer that crashed.

Where to start...

Let's see I'm about 10 posts behind since the breakage of my camera. As I said before my camera died one day. Well since I have a determined husband who is usually pretty good at fixing anything he touches, he decided he was going to try and fix my camera. Well it was unfixable, but was in about 100 pieces on the work bench. Ironically enough I would have loved to take a picture of the camera in all those pieces.

I don't know where to start. First I'll start with pictures of our new office. We did a bit of redecorating in our office, and I am quite proud of it. We only redid the front waiting room and
reception area, and then decluttered the rest of the office.

Jared bought these fishing baskets as file/patient folders holder. So that when he's with a patient the receptionist takes the next patient back and puts their file in it. It goes with the whole Bear River theme.

This is just one of the treatment rooms. The rooms in this office are very large. There is Jared's office, 2 treatment rooms, 2 massage therapy rooms, and an X-Ray suite. All in all we have a lot of square feet and a lot of space. As you can see from the one picture there are borders in a few of the rooms. Those will be coming down as soon as possible and a new coat of paint over the rest of the office.

Gifted & Talented

I thought I would post a quick update on Tyler. As many of you know we had a lot of struggles with him in school in Meridian, with his teacher and his "behavior" and his learning. Well now here in Soda he has a wonderful, awesome, great teacher. I can't say enough about her. He is doing so well, he pays attention, he gets his work done. She still has to remind him not to talk to his neighboors during table time, but he is doing better each day. Then in the IRI's (a big standardized test that all grades take) He got the highest score out of the entire kindergarten ! We were so thrilled and for even better news; drumroll please.......He is being tested for the GIFTED & TALENTED!!!! That is just amazing to me, where his teachers in Meridian didn't know he could read, and just thought he was behind etc. His teacher here thinks he is so smart and learns so well with her that he is excelling so well. FINALLY!!!

I don't even think it has anything to do with being smarter than he was before, I think that it is his teacher tells him he is so smart and that she loves him. So he believes that he can do things, so then he tries hard to please her. Where that definately was not happening in Meridian. The same thing with church, he had 2 church teachers, and they were always telling us how naughty he was, and coming to get us etc. He knew that they didn't like him. So he didn't even try to be good. Well the primary president told me this week that he sits in primary just like an angel, that he is so well behaved, and she said "I just love him." I said "my child, are you sure its Tyler". That was probably rude of me, but all we heard about in Meridian was how horrible he was. So this past week was just so excited for us to see him growing and learning and behaving so well.

So if anything from this move, Tyler is doing great! I am so thankful he is excelling and doing so well. We also found out he's a little ladies man in class. I guess all the little girls follow him around, and always want to sit by him and be his partner! His dad got a big grin out of that one!!

I have had so many cute picture opportunities this week, but I broke my stinking camera! & my stupid computer is broken with the pictures that I got before it broke. So hopefully one day I'll post some pictures. I really wanted to post a picture of Tyler's Gifted & Talented letter, but I'm on Jared's laptop and don't have the scanner plugged in. Maybe one day I'll actually get it on here.

Fun Tag

I normally don't like these tags, but this one is easy and fun

Rules of the tag: Go to your picture file, find the 4th folder and pick the 4th picture in it. Explain a little about the picture. Post. Tag others.

This was my picture in that order. It is of Tyler when he was a few months old with my brother in law Hal, and my nephew Braydon. My sister and I had our babies just a couple months apart, and Tyler and I traveled to Worland to see them. I think that these two boys were excited to have another boy in the house!

Talking about that, I wanted to show a couple more pictures from that day. I love these little pumpkin pictures, they were so cute. And although they look the same age, Tyler was already 3 1/2 months old. We also had them matching ducky blankets that I made and we called them our little Burrito babies. Oh how time flies. Its weird too think that Tyler is now six and Brynlee will be six next week.

I love how he had his arm around her!

I tag everyone who reads my blog, since I don't know who actually does, so this will let me know if you do!!

Finally...Pictures!!!

I finally got the pictures of our new house off my camera!

Well Here it is!! And we love it!!

Here is a couple pictures of the yard. Needless to say it is HUGE!! We love it now, especially the 3 apple trees. I'm sure next summer when we are mowing, it might not be so great. But the kids are loving it, and the previous owners left their swing set, so they even have something to play on.

Here is the view we get to look at every time we look out our window or go out on the balcony or deck. We have great views of the reservoir, the mountains, and some hills too.

Here is Isabella's room. It is decorated pretty cute. Of course it matches nothing she has, but for now it is sure cute.

Here is the kitchen. I couldn't help myself and have already painted it. And I love it. I was pretty brave on the color choices, but I am absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out. Here is the living room upstairs. It is quite big with a balcony off the front and a gas fireplace. The border and paint have to go though. That will be my next project.

The family room downstairs, I love the brick with the wood burning stove in it. Off of this room is the 4th bedroom/playroom and full bath and the laundry room.

New house here we come!

Well after 12 agonizing days in a camp trailer, we were finally able to move into our house on Friday!!! Although it was hard ( mainly just dealing with the kids was hard, the rest was fine), I am so much more grateful for what I have and for this home I am able to live in. Its everything I hoped it would be!! We're not all unpacked yet, and I told myself "no painting" until we were all moved in. So hopefully by next week I'll start painting, I'm so excited, there are so many possibilities when its your home, and not a rental.

Jared found the camera today, so hopefully I will get some pictures taken this week and get them posted for all those curious eyes out there.

I am already reaping the benefits of living so close to home again. I was able to borrow my sisters trailer, and father-in-laws truck to be able to live. Then it was a quick trip to take it back to Lyman, all in one night. Then it was another load of furniture back to Soda, in my Dad's truck. So then tomorrow I will make another quick trip back to Lyman to take his truck back. I've never been close enough to do anything like that so it is an odd experience for me. But very helpful.

The people in Soda seem to be very nice, and very excited to have new people move in. So its a very different experience than living in the city, an experience I am loving! Its so nice to have people ask your name, or who you are, or "aren't you new". Or a big press release came out in the paper about us and buying Bear River Chiro, so now when people see me, instead of saying "are you new", they say "you must be the new chiropractor's wife." It real nice to have people notice us, and not just be 1 on 6000 chiropractors in the same city.

I will post pictures as soon as I get some!

update

So I thought I would give an update before we go MIA for a while. We are loading our moving truck tomorrow, and will head out for Soda Springs on Friday. We are unloading all of our stuff into a storage unit. We then will head to Wyoming for the weekend, and then back to Soda Springs on Monday. Jared starts on Tuesday, and the other chiropractor will stay for a month so everything will get transitioned over.

Also We bought a house this week!!! We went looking over the weekend, and found one we loved, and next thing you know we are in the process of closing. So hopefully all goes well with the inspection and the appraisal.

We won't be able to get into the house until Sept. 12th, so we will be living in my sisters camp trailer, at Brigham Young RV park (which is just too hilarious). So it'll be a long and tight cramped 2 weeks. But I don't think we mind, I have the mind set that, I can do anything if it means I get a house!!

I lost my camera so I wasn't able to get pics so as soon as I find it, I'll post pics of our new house (assuming that the inspection goes well). But since we will be living in a camp trailer I won't have internet, unless I go to the office. So I'll post more as I find out more information.

Well...Its official

Well its official.....We are moving to Soda Springs, Idaho....in 1 week!! We will be the proud owners of Bear River Chiropractic. It has been a very crazy week for us. To make a long story short (semi-short) we weren't going to move until December or January, but because of things on the other end, we had to move the date up to September 1. So initially Jared was going to go there and I would stay here until our house rented out (because of a stupid lease I had to be responsible for finding another tenant to live here), I assumed until October. Well I found a person who needed the house September 1, so we will be homeless for a few weeks. & I just found this all out yesterday!! Due to the fact that Soda Springs has about 4000 people in it, there isn't a huge need for rentals, and we can't secure a place to stay. So we'll unload all our stuff into a storage unit, and probably end up in a hotel, and maybe back home in Wyoming on the weekends.
But to make up for having to stay in a hotel, we will be buying our first home! Well thats the plan! Being a small town, we will be able to see all of the houses for sale rather easily. So hopefully the process will go quickly.

So there it was, another chapter in the Shelton Family Saga. I should write a book with everything we've been through in the last year. Geez!!!

Look who's 6!!

I have a billion posts to post, but first of all.....Tyler turned 6!!! I cannot believe my baby is 6. Am I old enough to have a 6 year old? Sometimes I don't feel like it.

He had such a special birthday weekend. It started with he opened his presents at home. He got a scooter, a skate board and magnetics.

Then we went to Wyoming where Grandma Carwash threw him a little birthday party with his aunts and his Great Grandparents, & he got roller blades. The next morning Grandma even took him outside roller blading. (I have to get those pics from her)

Then we went to the mountains for the Taylor family reunion and he was able to have a birthday party with all of his cousins. His favorite part which was a huge surprise was a Grave Digger Pinata!!! He also had a monster truck birthday cake. He loved it! However the heat made the cake start to fall.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BIG BOY!!!!
