The Tree of Life

For Christmas my sister gave me Family Home Evening in a can...You just open it up and there are slips of paper with the lesson, scripture, song etc...They are short & to the point..Well a couple weeks ago we pulled out The Tree of Life lesson...after a little while Jared(who was teaching) realized the kids were NOT getting it....So being the fabulous daddy and artist that he is, drew this!

Lehi & the tree and then Nephi & Saria...The scribbles were the darknes..After this we thought they understood a bit better.  Then one of the questions was how we can help others hold to the rod?  Izzy's answer was " I would hold my friends hand and help them pick some fruit off the tree."  Well, not exactly but it was sure cute!

Do you ever stop doing something for one reason or another and then when you go back to it, you can't imagine why you stopped?  Well I haven't crafted in forever and the last couple months I've gotten back into it, and I forgot how happy it makes me! These are  a few of the crafts I've made in the last couple months...The one's I've remembered to get pictures of anyway!

These Letters were for the kids teachers for christmas...

Some cute snowmen we made at the annual Grandma's Slumber party

A picture  I made clear back in November but i just barely got around to distressing it..I was so scared but I loved the way it turned out.
In this pic I made the roses on the candle sticks, in which I am IN LOVE with them!  I also made the sweeheart frame as well.
This is actually a wreath, I just haven't tied the the ribbon on yet.

I don't know what it is with my kids, but both of them have had this thing about learning their letters....they don't want to!  However Tyler learned to write his name very young, Izzy could have cared less..(She does know how to write her name).  Then a couple weeks ago she sits down and writes Izzy instead of Isabella...I was unaware that she knew that. I didn't want her knowing how to write Izzy, because she'd figure out it was so much shorter than Isabella....Anyway it lit some kind of fire in her, and she started asking how to spell things.  Love, Mom, and Dad....So now all over the house I find little pieces of paper with that written...And it just warms my heart..Maybe there is hope for her yet to learn her letters!

Pine Wood Derby

Last week was Tyler's first Pine Wood Derby...He aned his dad worked so hard on the car...It was the fanciest wood car I ever saw!     Tyler was sooo excited for it..I was a bit worried because all he talked about was winning, but when the races were happening he didn't seem to care...In fact one race he came in 4th out of 4...and he ran up to me and said "awesome mom I got 4th"  He took 1st in one of his heats, and he did the "toyota jump".   Then when they were handing out awards at the end, one of his friends got one and he was so truely excited for him..I was so proud of him for being such a good sport.
