Finally...Pictures!!!

I finally got the pictures of our new house off my camera!

Well Here it is!! And we love it!!

Here is a couple pictures of the yard. Needless to say it is HUGE!! We love it now, especially the 3 apple trees. I'm sure next summer when we are mowing, it might not be so great. But the kids are loving it, and the previous owners left their swing set, so they even have something to play on.

Here is the view we get to look at every time we look out our window or go out on the balcony or deck. We have great views of the reservoir, the mountains, and some hills too.

Here is Isabella's room. It is decorated pretty cute. Of course it matches nothing she has, but for now it is sure cute.

Here is the kitchen. I couldn't help myself and have already painted it. And I love it. I was pretty brave on the color choices, but I am absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out. Here is the living room upstairs. It is quite big with a balcony off the front and a gas fireplace. The border and paint have to go though. That will be my next project.

The family room downstairs, I love the brick with the wood burning stove in it. Off of this room is the 4th bedroom/playroom and full bath and the laundry room.

New house here we come!

Well after 12 agonizing days in a camp trailer, we were finally able to move into our house on Friday!!! Although it was hard ( mainly just dealing with the kids was hard, the rest was fine), I am so much more grateful for what I have and for this home I am able to live in. Its everything I hoped it would be!! We're not all unpacked yet, and I told myself "no painting" until we were all moved in. So hopefully by next week I'll start painting, I'm so excited, there are so many possibilities when its your home, and not a rental.

Jared found the camera today, so hopefully I will get some pictures taken this week and get them posted for all those curious eyes out there.

I am already reaping the benefits of living so close to home again. I was able to borrow my sisters trailer, and father-in-laws truck to be able to live. Then it was a quick trip to take it back to Lyman, all in one night. Then it was another load of furniture back to Soda, in my Dad's truck. So then tomorrow I will make another quick trip back to Lyman to take his truck back. I've never been close enough to do anything like that so it is an odd experience for me. But very helpful.

The people in Soda seem to be very nice, and very excited to have new people move in. So its a very different experience than living in the city, an experience I am loving! Its so nice to have people ask your name, or who you are, or "aren't you new". Or a big press release came out in the paper about us and buying Bear River Chiro, so now when people see me, instead of saying "are you new", they say "you must be the new chiropractor's wife." It real nice to have people notice us, and not just be 1 on 6000 chiropractors in the same city.

I will post pictures as soon as I get some!

update

So I thought I would give an update before we go MIA for a while. We are loading our moving truck tomorrow, and will head out for Soda Springs on Friday. We are unloading all of our stuff into a storage unit. We then will head to Wyoming for the weekend, and then back to Soda Springs on Monday. Jared starts on Tuesday, and the other chiropractor will stay for a month so everything will get transitioned over.

Also We bought a house this week!!! We went looking over the weekend, and found one we loved, and next thing you know we are in the process of closing. So hopefully all goes well with the inspection and the appraisal.

We won't be able to get into the house until Sept. 12th, so we will be living in my sisters camp trailer, at Brigham Young RV park (which is just too hilarious). So it'll be a long and tight cramped 2 weeks. But I don't think we mind, I have the mind set that, I can do anything if it means I get a house!!

I lost my camera so I wasn't able to get pics so as soon as I find it, I'll post pics of our new house (assuming that the inspection goes well). But since we will be living in a camp trailer I won't have internet, unless I go to the office. So I'll post more as I find out more information.

Well...Its official

Well its official.....We are moving to Soda Springs, Idaho....in 1 week!! We will be the proud owners of Bear River Chiropractic. It has been a very crazy week for us. To make a long story short (semi-short) we weren't going to move until December or January, but because of things on the other end, we had to move the date up to September 1. So initially Jared was going to go there and I would stay here until our house rented out (because of a stupid lease I had to be responsible for finding another tenant to live here), I assumed until October. Well I found a person who needed the house September 1, so we will be homeless for a few weeks. & I just found this all out yesterday!! Due to the fact that Soda Springs has about 4000 people in it, there isn't a huge need for rentals, and we can't secure a place to stay. So we'll unload all our stuff into a storage unit, and probably end up in a hotel, and maybe back home in Wyoming on the weekends.
But to make up for having to stay in a hotel, we will be buying our first home! Well thats the plan! Being a small town, we will be able to see all of the houses for sale rather easily. So hopefully the process will go quickly.

So there it was, another chapter in the Shelton Family Saga. I should write a book with everything we've been through in the last year. Geez!!!

Look who's 6!!

I have a billion posts to post, but first of all.....Tyler turned 6!!! I cannot believe my baby is 6. Am I old enough to have a 6 year old? Sometimes I don't feel like it.

He had such a special birthday weekend. It started with he opened his presents at home. He got a scooter, a skate board and magnetics.

Then we went to Wyoming where Grandma Carwash threw him a little birthday party with his aunts and his Great Grandparents, & he got roller blades. The next morning Grandma even took him outside roller blading. (I have to get those pics from her)

Then we went to the mountains for the Taylor family reunion and he was able to have a birthday party with all of his cousins. His favorite part which was a huge surprise was a Grave Digger Pinata!!! He also had a monster truck birthday cake. He loved it! However the heat made the cake start to fall.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BIG BOY!!!!

Chiropractor anyone??

Any one need a chiropractor? She's sweet, cute and best of all 2!! Today I realized how much kids can learn just by watching. Izzy crawled up on her brother and went through several of the steps that her dad does on an average adjustment. She was even saying things her dad would say. It was hilarious. We just were laughing and laughing. I asked her what she was doing and she said "playing" and I said playing what, and she said "Doctor." It was just too cute.

Summer fun

The kids are sure loving summer, so I just thought I would post some cute pictures. Tyler finally figured out how to do the slip and slide. He would land on his knees before, and not go very far and hurt himself. So his dad showed him how to do it, and now he slides so fast he almost goes off the end. Izzy would kind of run and sit, then laugh at herself.

The kids were out if the back yard playing yesterday and I look out the window and this is what I saw. I wonder where they learned that (definitely not from their mother, I never tan back there.....). They both laid there for quite some time, maybe next time they'll understand when mom wants all the peace and quiet in the sun!

A Popcorn Picnic

Recently I started watching a couple of boys one day a week. Well this week we decided to have a popcorn picnic. We spread out a huge blanket and got pillows and they ate popcorn while watching a movie. Then when it was over I rolled up the blanket and shook it off. Then no popcorn mess. I never would have thought that two 2 year olds, a 3 year old, and a 5 year old would be so quiet! I believe we will be having weekly popcorn picnics.

4th of July!

Our kids were sooo soooo excited for 4th of July this year. They convinced their dad a week before to take them and buy fireworks. So for a solid week about 100 times a day I was asked " is it the 4th of July yet?" They both were in awe the whole night. It was the first time EVER I didn't hear fighting, and they were sitting next to each other!

One of their favorites were the giant sparklers. It was the only thing they got to touch. Tyler loved writing his name in the air with it.

This was the after affects of our night. We had a ton of fire works, as well as a ton of fun. I'm sure our neighbors weren't too pleased with us, considering it doesn't get dark until 10:30. Oh well, our kids will only be young once!

Baseball Season Ends

Tyler's baseball season ended, and after their last game they handed out trophies with their names on it. Tyler was so proud of himself. He carries it all around the house with him, and anyone who comes over to our house, he shows it to them. I was really excited that he had fun playing a sport.

Back up.....

So its been a long time since I've put anything new on my blog, so I have to back up a ways.

In June it was Jared & I's birthdays. For Jared's I took him to Joe's Crab Shack, and he of course had the crab. The server brought him a big ol' bib and tied it on him. Then she handed him salt & pepper shakers and told him they were going to sing to him, and he had to shake everything but the salt and pepper shakers. And if he stopped they would start the song over. It was very funny!! And if you know my husband he is very shy and turns red pretty easy. So I was clad I was able to embarrass him on his birthday!

Reasons why I love being married to a Chiropractor

I took this post from one of my friends (Thanks Lacie!!) And I just loved it and she can write much more eloquently than I can, so I am stealing it for my blog, with a few add ins of my own!

1. I get free adjustments any time I need them! I am beginning to thing this is why the Lord prompted him to become a chiropractor, is just for me!
2. Jared loves loves loves his job, which makes him happy, which makes me happy.
3. Someone I love is able to help people improve their quality of life by ridding themselves of pain.
4. Chiropractors promote complete health, or overall well-being, which I love.
5. By promoting a natural form of pain relief, my husband is able to slowly help more people see the benefits of pharmaceutical-free health care.

I truly feel chiropractic is more than just popping backs. Having gone through school with him, I can say that my husband is looking to help those in need find a better way to live life, and that is through good habits of eating right, exercising, and taking other necessary steps to longevity. But, a good adjustment is sometimes all anybody needs to feel better. There are different types of chiropractors out there. Chiropractors are like shoes. Some fit perfectly into your life, and others just don't. Not all schools and docs were created equal. However, I love being married to a chiropractor.

I really felt like I needed to post this for my own good. Right now its very frustrating being married to a chiropractor, because we have the debt of the medical school, but not the profits yet!

Stuff Mormons Like!

So I've spent the last hour laughing out loud, hysterically at this website. Mainly because its true, and I am guilty of most of them. How 'bout you?

The Dentist

Both the kids went to the Dentist this week. It's not their first time, but this is the first time I remembered to bring the camera. They both did really well, except that Tyler has a cavity in his 6 year molars already (that just came in). So he has to go back, but he thinks its great fun to go to the dentist because they get tokens and get to pick a prize.

They both did really good holding still to get the x-rays done. The assistants couldn't believe that Bella would hold still long enough for them to do anything. I guess thats what happens when your dad is Dr. and they LOVE for him to do anything to them, especially looking in their ears, eyes and mouth etc.

They also lay with head phones on and watch a movie while they get their teeth cleaned.

Base Ball

Tyler started baseball last weekend. Their first practice was canceled due to the rain, so their first game became their first practice. But considering that, they did really well. He is in coach pitch, so the coach pitches 3 balls and if they don't hit it, they get out the tee. Tyler did great and didn't need the tee. The game was quite hilarious though!

This is Tyler's Game Face!!

This is Tyler's first time hitting and making it on base! It was so cute the helmet was so big it was just bobbing up and down the hole time, he could hardly see.

This is how Tyler plays 2nd base when he's bored.

This is Tyler's first time playing and organized sport and we think it is just way too cute not to shared.

Trip to Wyoming

This last week the kids and I were able to take a week long trip to Wyoming to see all the family. It was a very eventful week for going to the middle of no where. On the way there my wonderful car decided to break down about 1/2 way there. With a little luck and a lot of praying it started and we end up making it all the way into Ogden canyon. Then it decided to break down again about every 7 miles until we hit Morgan. So we stopped and hung out at the 7-11 for a while. Then it started and it died about every 3 miles until we hit Evanston, Wyoming, and it was pretty much dead. So then we had to hang out for a 1/2 an hour in Wal Mart and wait for my mother in law to come and get us.

Once we got to Lyman finally the kids had so much fun with all of their cousins, and Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents.

This is Bella and her cousin Daphne, they are only a month apart in age, and had so much fun together riding in the stroller. Bella had never ridden with anybody before, so she thought it was great fun.

This is all of the grandchildren on my side of the family. Its not often they are all together so we took a photo opp when we had the chance.
This is Tyler and his Unc. Tyler was cold so Unc gave him his jacket, and it was just a little bit too big for him, but sure was cute

Also while there, I got to take a little mini vacation to Wendover with my parents. The kids stayed with their other grandparents, and had a blast without mom and dad around. I even got to see the Beach Boys in concert. Although I was probably the youngest person there,(probably one of the only ones under 50) it was really fun, and I was still able to appreciate the wonderful music. Plus it was my first time in Wendover and it was pretty interesting and it was really fun.

After....

So here are AFTER pictures of our hair mishap. This is Bella's First Haircut(well done by someone other than a 4 year old). She thought it was fun and watched the entire time in the mirror. It is a very big difference from before. Her dad seems to be over it, but I am still very sad that we had to cut all her hair off, because Its not quite what I thought it would look like. Hopefully I get used to it fast!
