My baby sister recently had her first baby. This was a bit confusing for my kids, I think it was the first time they were old enough to ask some of those "duh" questions. When I told my kids Aunt Cami was going to have a baby, Izzy asks where the baby was at, so I say in her tummy. She gets this really confused look on her face and then says " Why, did her eat it?" Too cute for her own good. I explain no it was just in there. Then Tyler gets the same confused look, and goes "if the baby is in her tummy, how does the food not hit its head?" Well thats a very good question. So I explain a tiny bit, that its kind of protected in a sack type thing. He goes "thats disgusting." He never asked another question about that baby in her tummy.

So for literally 8 months everyday, all I heard from my kids, was " Is Cami's baby out of her tummy yet." At least 3 times a day. Then when I would say no, Izzy would say "Because her ate it." It was hilarious, no matter how many times she said it, it made me laugh hysterically. At this point I don't think Aunt Cami thought this was too funny.

Then the next question would be "Is her tummy still big (holding arms out)?" Izzy was obsessed with the big tummy. She would just stare at it, then she would poke it. One time she put her ear down on Cami's belly, and then goes " Oh I just heard it swimming around in there." Funny Funny.

Every store we went into, my kids were picking out everything they wanted to get Cami's baby.

Then when he came out (thank goodness they didn't ask how!)

This is what happened....

Neither one of them wanted anything to do with the cute little thing.
But I knew that wouldn't last long.

The more they were around him, the more they wanted to hold him, I was fighting with my 2 kiddos to be able to hold him!

I hope my sister doesn't mind, but you have to see what a cutie he is, go to her blog, to see more pics.

I'm a bit behind on my blogging, while I was was giving people time before I went private. The beginning of August, our baby boy turned 7! I can't believe it.

Once again, his birthday fell during the annual Taylor reunion, so we celebrated at the reunion. He thinks the reunion is just one great big birthday party for him.

This is the first year since he could talk, that he hasn't asked for a Grave Digger cake. He asked for a John Deer Cake! I thought it turned out pretty cute.

I have a tiny little aunt who is smaller than most the children, and it wouldn't be the Taylor reunion without my uncle picking her up! Here he was lifting her up so she could reach the pinata. Of course a John Deere pinata.

My itty bitty neice trying to hit the pinata, she wasn't strong enough to pick up the stick though.

Here's my cute little cousin attacking the pinata!

Here is the cake I made. I was quite proud of the color matching in the frosting.

Of course, just because he didn't want a specific grave digger birthday party, doesn't mean we got too far from all the grave digger items. Including a backpack, a lunch box, and poster, and all his favorite monster trucks in huge vinyl.

For months all Tyler would say he wanted for his birthday was this squirt gun! You fill it up with water, and then the bottom half you fill with ice, to make the water extra cold. Of course it broke after using it one time, so boy am I glad I didn't pay the $30 for the regular price.

We left today to go to Lyman for Brooklyn's baptism and Jaxson's blessing, Izzy was sick in the night, but she seemed to be feeling better. Well we only made it 30 miles and she was soo sick we had to turn around. Tyler was very upset because he was supposed to give a talk at the baptism tonight. So we made lemonade out of our lemons....we videoed him giving his talk, and then they will be able to just show his talk tonight. He did such a good job memorizing his talk in 2 days! I just had to share with everybody my smart little guy!

Well I'm thinking its time....time to go private. I hate private blogs, its such a pain in the butt. But after having some psycho woman keep commenting on our lives, I'm thinking I probably better do it. So if you want to follow our blog, leave me your email address, so I can give you permission. Or email me at jshelton54@hotmail.com

So pyscho Susana, thanks to you, I now am going private!!

I just got home from dropping Tyler off at his first day of 1st grade. I can't quite decide if I'm sad or thrilled! I am very excited for the fighting to stop, but I can't believe I have a child old enough to be in 1st grade!

I don't know why he wouldn't smile, probably because he is just like his mama, he likes to sleep in every morning. Here in Soda there is no school on Fridays, so to make up for that they start school earlier than most and get out later. They also serve free breakfast at the school, so he had to be at school by 7:30! He got probably the best teacher at the school, so we are very excited for this new adventure & ALL DAY SCHOOL!!

We've had a lot going on around here lately! A lot that I haven't taken pictures of, I hate it when that happens. We went on vacation last week, I did get pictures of that & will post them later.

About a month ago, Jared & Tyler went on a Father son "campout". I say that loosely because, they did it in one of the church's lawns. Then this week Izzy got to go on the Daddy Daughter campout, but this time it was actually camping! She had so much fun, but I forgot to send the camera with Jared.

Also this week, Jared was put in the Elder's quorem presidency! Which I'm excited because maybe now I can have some control over some of the activities! Our ward has very very few!! He has been teaching the gospel essentials class, so he had to go to Sunday School today, and found that very hard!

I took the kids to Lava this week, it was Izzy's first time at the pool! What a little fish. She started going down the big slides, and couldn't get enough. She would swing on the bar so she would go faster. She even went down the one that is completely enclosed, is dark, and is very fast, I even squeal going down it. Her first time she hops out and says "Mom I was going down it and I said WaHoo!!" I love it, she is just too cute sometimes!

We have been working very hard lately, we never seem to have time to be home. We currently are looking at expanding our staff at the clinic, an additional massage therapist! We think we've found the one, but tomorrow is his second interview ( done by me of course,) I volunteered to have him give me massage as his interview. Its a tough job but somebody's gotta do it!

I will post pictures of our vacation soon hopefully!

Last weekend I went to Lyman for Cami's Baby Shower. I had made her this adorable Diaper cake, it had 210 diapers on it. It had itty bitty crocs, a wipe holder, a burp rag, a toy phone, and cute little animals. I also made her the blanket that the cake was sitting on.

A couple weeks ago Jared surprised me with the China Hutch that matches my table set.( my gift for Mothers day, my birthday & anniversary...probably for a few years)m I was so excited. I have a ton of China; while we lived in Gresham, I started taking care of this little old lady that lived next door. She would come over everyday to hold Izzy, she was a baby then. I cleaned her house, took her to run errands, and took her dinner & lunch everyday. One day she got pneumonia and had to go into the hospital, and she passed away while in the hospital. Her family said that my family meant so much to her that they wanted to me to have her China. It is service for 12, including 4 different sized plates, a bowl, cup, gravy boat, serving bowl, sugar bowl, creamer and a serving platter. I also have crystal glasses that my Grandma gave me, that were her Dad's. Now all this wonderful stuff is all organized and displayed properly. I love it! I never imagined I would ever had wanted a fancy dining room, but I guess I did.

These just show the beautiful detail on it.

4th of July part 2

On the 4th of July, I woke up bright & early at went and ran the annual Fun Run. I had been training for a while. For most people a 5k isn't that big of deal, but I have always hating running, but for some reason and friend of mine & I had decided we wanted to run it. We had two goals, to finish the race & not come in last. Yay I accomplished both!

Then I came right home & we left for the parade. Bear River Chiropractic had a float. The theme of the parade was "A Community United". So I made the clever sign for the float,(get it?? Back. ha ha we crack ourselves up.) We draped the Excursion in company signs & 400 balloons later, we had us a float!

Here is just a picture of the awesome staff at Bear River Chiropractic (as well as some little helpers in the background).

4th of July Celebration...Soda Springs style

So we found out this year, that 4th of July in Soda Springs is a huge deal! So huge it starts the day before. It started out with Foam in the Park. The fireman came and sprayed everywhere with their foam. It was about 2 feet deep before they were done. Then they get their hoses to rinse everyone down, which makes the foam even deeper & go everywhere. My kids loved it so much they wouldn't leave until the firemen ran out of foam & water!

Half way through Izzy came over & sat down by me and went to sleep. She slept for about 45 minutes, got up and went & played again. It was pretty strange.

Tyler just finished up his baseball season, and he did great! For his age group he was assigned to t-ball. Which last year he didn't need the tee, so I got special permission to bump him up a league. So he was on a team of 8 year olds, and did great! I think he was the best player. Each game he got better and better. One game he got a home run, and he even slid a few times and got players out.

Here is a video of him up to bat. It wasn't the best hit,(his coach was a horrible pitcher) but I couldn't figure out how to use my camera for most of the game, and this is the only one I got.

Last week the Tooth Fairy visited our house 3 times in 4 days! Tyler just can't seem to keep his teeth from falling out! Well the top 2, he crashed on his bike about a month ago, and one became discolored, so I think it had died. So it just fell out one day. The other soon followed, and then another one on bottom.

As I stated before, for Jared's birthday we went up to Bear Lake & went to Minatonka Caves. When we got up there,m all the tours were full, so we had to walk around for an hour and a half for our tour. Our kids loved it (once they realized there were lights that stayed on). There were a lot of steps in & out. When we got to the very end they shut all the lights off, so we could see what it was like.

Smore time!

We recently added a fire pit in our wonderful back yard. There was a dead tree stump & it was in the perfect spot for a fire pit. We have been having lots of fun roasting smores around the fire. And here when it gets dark, it gets pretty cool, so it is fun! & not too hot.
